On the coast, near Porto Clementino, lie the ruins of the Etruscan emporium of Gravisca.
The Etruscan Necropolis
The remains of a prominent temple of worship are still visible, situated next to the ruins of a Roman colony established in 181 B.C., which in turn, was built upon a pre-existing Etruscan settlement. The sanctuary was active from 600 B.C. to 300 B.C. and consists of several structures dedicated to both Greek and Etruscan deities.
